FMA Student Investing Challenge Rules:
- You must be a student FMA member to participate AND you must register with the email address that was used for your Student FMA membership.
- You will have a virtual US$1,000,000 in a StockTrak.com account and you can trade from September 29, 2025 to 4pm ET November 21, 2025.
- You will be able to build a virtual portfolio of equities from the U.S., Toronto and Mexico exchanges as listed on the StockTrak.com site; you can also trade a selection of U.S. bonds and mutual funds.
- Trading limitations:
- YOU MUST INVEST AT LEAST $900,000 BY OCTOBER 10th AND REMAIN INVESTED THROUGH NOVEMBER 21 TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR PRIZES (YOUR CASH BALANCE MUST NOT BE ABOVE $100,000 AT THE CLOSE OF ANY DAY AFTER OCTOBER 10th).
- There is a diversification rule of no more than 10% in any one asset;
- maximum of 400 transactions for the entire trading period;
- minimum price for buying a stock is $5;
- virtual commission of $10 per trade;
- no buying on margin or short selling;
- no day trading;
- interest earned on cash is 3%.
- Over $2,000 IN PRIZES: Top 10 students based on portfolio value at the end of the Challenge will be recognized in FMA social media, website and e-newsletters. Top 10 students will also receive an FMA Certificate of Recognition. StockTrak will also issue prizes as follows:
- Top 3 Students Each Get $300 Amazon Gift Card & Leadership Conference Admission ($175 value).
- Students Ranked 4-10 Get $100 Amazon Gift Card.
- Rankings will be audited and winners announced within 7 days after the end of the Challenge. All decisions of StockTrak are final.
- By participating, user acknowledges that this is a simulation and orders are filled as per StockTrak virtual trading platform and on prices from StockTrak’s quote vendors.
