STOCK-TRAK continues to be the #1 portfolio simulation available to your students, with over 800 professors and nearly 45,000 students using our service each year. STOCK-TRAK is, in fact, more than an investment simulation. It is a valuable supplement to any finance class that will provide practical experience to the topics discussed in your lectures and textbooks. If you have any doubt as to the value of STOCK-TRAK, please read some of the professor comments and student comments that we have received recently.
As you start to plan for the this coming Semester, I want to let you know of the exciting new changes that have occurred at STOCK-TRAK recently:
- Now Accepting Limit Orders!!! -- Students will now be able to place limit and stop orders on stocks, options and futures traded on Stock-Trak. To discourage day trading, limit orders to close positions will not be available for the current business day. If a student buys a stock today and places a sell limit, the limit order will be Good-Til-Cancel effective the next day.
- STOCK-TRAK Professor Hotline -- In order to serve you, the professor, better we now have a Professor Hotline. This is exclusively for professors so that they can get swift and efficient resolution to any question or problem they might have. The number for the Hotline is 678-475-0766.
- STOCK-TRAK is now used in over 20 countries around the world thanks to expanded International Stock Trading Pit -- Talk about international diversification! Our International Stock Trading Pit has been expanded to include nearly 700 stocks from 13 different exchanges from around the world. Now your students can trade stocks in London, Germany, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Korea, Mexico, Brazil and others. Trades are made at the recent currency spot rate and converted back into U.S. dollars. Now you students can experience currency risk too.
- Customizable Tools on Home Page-We now have a watch list on our home page, which can be customized to match your student's portfolios. So now when your students visit our page, they will be able to see how their stocks are performing immediately.
- Realistic position limits will be enforced.
To force students to diversify their portfolios, and to make the students trade as if it was real money, students trades will not be able to put all their eggs in one basket. Stock, option, and future positions will be limited to 50% of their initial cash balance. Accounts that begin with $100,000 will only be allowed to invest a maxmum of $50,000 on any single stock (Without this position limit, we have seen some students buying on margin and spending $200,000 on one stock; now they can only spend a fraction of that buying power on any stock, option, or future.)
- More flexibility with the trade limit.
